Who We Are

Anna’s Angels Dog Rescue (AADR) is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal rescue and welfare organization serving Hardin, Jefferson, and surrounding counties in Southeast Texas. Our mission is to provide care, comfort, and compassion, to animals in need while engaging the hearts and minds of our community to bring about an end to unnecessary euthanasia.

What We Do

Our volunteers work to save at-risk abandoned and homeless animals. Our goal is to prevent animals from entering shelters, and for those that do, get them out alive.  We provide temporary shelter, spay and neuter, and other medical services, and care for, protect, and find quality homes for homeless and neglected companion animals. We advocate animal welfare, community involvement, and education to further the bond between people and animals.

Why We Do It

Texas is the No. 1 state in the country for animal shelter deaths for the last two years, according to a new report from the animal welfare organization Best Friends Animal Society. Many of these animals are happy, healthy, adoptable pets that are needlessly euthanized because of the simple fact that local municipal shelters do not have the space to accommodate a large number of animals due to pet overpopulation issues.

OUR LIFE-SAVING PROGRAMS

Flyin’ Angels Transport Program: Our transport program has saved thousands of pets since 2018! We transport adoptable dogs to their new forever homes in the Pacific Northwest, and Canada. These areas do not have the pet overpopulation problems that exist in Southeast Texas. We are saving the lives of dogs slated for euthanasia at the Beaumont Municipal Shelter. These animals often end up in our city shelter due to the lack of homes in our local community but find forever homes in other areas. Rather than these animals taking their last breath at the city shelter, they are given opportunities for new hope, new homes, and new families.

PAW-lunteer Program:  Our volunteers play an important role at Anna’s Angels Dog Rescue. Each task performed makes a significant contribution to the health and welfare of our animals. Food, water, and exercise are only part of the process! Fostering an animal for a night or two, or even taking them on a day outing will help us understand the needs of each and every life we save. By offering your time and talent, you improve the quality of life for our animals while they wait for their new forever homes. Our volunteers play a role in helping fulfill our vision of creating a community where 100% of the adoptable animals find loving homes and no animals will be euthanized because of pet overpopulation. Contact us today for volunteer opportunities like the following: Drivers for transport and local pick-ups and deliveries, Administrative and Clerical, Community outreach, Social media, Dog photography, and Socialization. There is something for everyone!

Altered Angels Low-Cost Spay & Neuter Program:  The stray animal population in Hardin, Jefferson, and surrounding counties in Southeast Texas is HUGE! Public and private shelters are overcrowded. Spaying female and neutering male animals guarantee no new puppies. Anna’s Angels Dog Rescue is on a mission to end pet overpopulation in our local communities by providing a low-cost spay and neuter program. By working together to spay and neuter all dogs, we can help end pet overpopulation and reduce the killing of unwanted animals in our city or county animal shelters. More than anything we want to help stop the overpopulation problem and the only way to do that is to start at the root of the problem. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to our spay and neuter program today!

Happy Heartbeats Heartworm Treatment Program:  Anna’s Angels Dog Rescue is getting to the Heart of the Matter! Our heartworm treatment program was created to help cure the thousands of amazing and sweet adoptable dogs that come into our adoption program that suffer from heartworms. A Heartworm-positive dog deserves the same chance to find a forever home, as those that aren’t HW Positive. Their condition puts them at a disadvantage due to its treatment cost as some adopters do not have the monetary means to treat this curable disease.

We need your help to give dogs a second chance at a new life and get them adopted. By donating to our “Happy Heartbeats Treatment Fund”, you help increase the chances of a heartworm-positive dog getting adopted, and you also give them a stronger and healthier heart! This is where your donation can make a difference! DONATE TODAY to help us treat dogs in our care that suffer from heartworm disease. Now, if you fall in love with a particular dog in our adoption program that has heartworms (indicated by a purple heart shape next to the name), you can make a specific donation to help sponsor his or her heartworm treatment directly. Simply add the dog’s name and animal ID Located in their Petstablished profile.

Go here —> https://www.annasangelsdogrescue.org/our-adoptables. Heartworm-positive dogs will have a purple heart shape next to the pet’s name and ID number.

Pet Ambassador Program:  A new initiative through which members of the community help spread the word on their social media platforms about things Anna’s Angels Dog Rescue hopes for people to get involved with. We want to leverage the power of neighborhood support, especially around social media and the nextdoor.com platforms and spread the word about lifesaving adoption events, sleepover programs, fundraising events, new fostering initiatives, the need for donations, and more. The AADR PET AMBASSADOR will help share information about our mission and programs by attending special events as an ambassador. This may include tabling special events, phone solicitation, event planning, participating in adoption events, distributing flyers, or promoting our work on social media (Facebook, Instagram, Nextdoor.com). All material and information will be provided before an event. We will cover everything from safety net fostering, adoption, low-cost spay and neuter, our heartworm treatment fund,  and help for lost pets. We hope to begin this initiative in the coming new year of 2023.
