Earth Day Events Around Southeast Texas

I hear a lot of people say that there’s nothing to do here unless you like to do “outdoor things.”  I’m assuming they mean true Southern outdoorsmen staples such as hunting, fishing, and the like, but Southeast Texas truly has so much to offer!  From farm visits and berry picking to boat rides to spending a leisurely afternoon at an outdoor market, some of our best ‘good times’ have been outdoors.

Whether you’re steeped in conservation, just beginning to dip your toes in, or just merely looking for something to keep the kids busy for a few hours, ask yourself what you can do to make a difference this Earth Day.  Ask your kids and come up with a plan together to reduce your impact, then head out to one of these Earth Day events to celebrate this amazing place we live on this weird, wild, and wonderful planet.

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.
