On Sunday, February 12th at 5:30pm, roughly 100 million people will huddle around a TV (or multiple TVs) to watch the Philadelphia Eagles take on the Kansas City Chiefs in the 52nd edition of the biggest game in football, the Super Bowl! Some will gather to watch the commercials, some the actual game, some the halftime show, and some won’t watch a minute of the game but love to gather with friends and eat some delicious food. Whether you choose to gather at home or enjoy the game out and about there are countless ways to go about the day! 

First and foremost, Super Bowl 52 will be broadcast on FOX and FOX Sports One. If you’re like me and don’t have cable, there are other ways to stream the game. You can stream the game through FuboTV, SlingTV, DirectTV Stream, Hulu +, Youtube TV, and NFL +. 

As for myself, I will be plopped on the couch with my wife, our two pups, and a couple of friends. We have made some big plans to smoke some pork shoulder, eat what I consider to be Super Bowl staples in homemade chili con queso, chips and salsa, pigs in a blanket, and chicken wings. If house parties are less your speed, don’t fret because you are in luck! Southeast Texas has many options to watch the game out in the community!

Every single option on this list made my mouth water. 

Being a HUGE sports fan, it usually comes with the territory to be a big fan of sports bars. Here are a few of my favorites along with some local spots in Southeast Texas to watch the game! You can stick with the classics and go to places like Buffalo Wild Wings in Beaumont or Port Arthur or Walk-Ons Sports Bistreaux in Port Arthur. If you’re looking for more of a Southeast Texas feel and stay local you won’t want to miss places like Little Woodrow’s where you can play cornhole, ping pong, and washers while you watch the game, Eddie’s Tavern to shoot some pool during the commercials, and Buckstin Brewing Company in Nederland! Head over to Sideline Sports Bar & Grill in Beaumont for the perfect combination of some southern home cooking and football! 

If a sports bar is not your place to be, there are options that are more family friendly spaces to watch the game! 5 Under Golf Center is a great place to watch the game and hit some golf balls while you’re at it, and their food is to die for! Mellow Mushroom in Beaumont has some of the best pizza around and has many TVs to catch the game! Neches River Wheelhouse is the spot to be if you love being on the river! 

All in all, you can’t go wrong with your decision on how you are going to watch the big game. In my, extremely biased, opinion as long as you are watching the game that’s all that matters. So whether or not you decide to throw your own watch party, attend a watch party, or prefer to be out and about for the game there are tons of options around Southeast Texas!
